Ematic chain lubrication system
The Ematic chain lubrication system ensures pinpoint lubrication of the saw chain links and guide bar rails. When used with STIHL OILOMATIC saw chain, it will provide maximum lubrication, longer wear and less oil consumption than conventional methods of chain lubrication. The Ematic system can reduce bar oil consumption by up to 50%.
STIHL Quick Chain Tensioning (B)
The STIHL Quick Chain Tensioning system (B) makes it very easy to tension the chain. Simply release the sprocket cover and turn the thumb wheel to set the optimum tension. No tools needed.
STIHL Electric Motor (EC)
The STIHL electric motor (EC) is extremely energy efficient, lightweight and compact. It runs quietly, generates very low vibrations and does not require servicing.
QuickStop Super Chain brake (Q)
Additional braking system for increased safety, designed by STIHL. The chain does not only stop if kickback is sufficiently strong or during active actuation of the front hand guard, but also when you release the rear handle. Chain over run is stopped within seconds, helping to protect the user.
Neutral battery position
The battery can be inserted into the tool in 2 stages. In the first neutral position, the battery is secured in the tool but does not connect with the contacts, allowing for safe transport. In the second operating position, the battery is completely inserted allowing for full operation of the tool.
Transparent chain oil tank
The transparent tank allows the chain oil level to be easily checked without having to remove the oil filler cap.
Comfortable control handle
The soft black rear control handle ensures a safe and secure grip when in use. The control lever features a interlock system for added safety.

Safety locking button
All STIHL battery products have a locking button with which you can lock the device. This prevents the grass trimmer starting unintentionally when a live battery is inserted.

STIHL FSA 45 Battery Powered Brushcutter
Telescopic shaft
With 8 adjustable positions along a length of 170 mm, the FSA can be optimised to match the user’s size, ensuring ergonomic working and a less tiring job – and without the need for a separate tool.
Adjustable loop handle
The loop handle can be adjusted in 6 increments up to an angle of 120°.
Adjustable mowing head
The mowing head can be tilted in 4 increments up to an angle of 48°.
Vertical edge trimming
The mowing head can pivot through 90° for precise lawn edge trimming.
Charge level indicator
The remaining working or charging time can be viewed at any time by pressing the button. Four LEDs light up, or flash green or red, to indicate the charging state or problems.
Storing spare blades
The PolyCut blades can be easily replaced if worn. Up to five spare blades can be conveniently stored on the tool.
Spacer bracket
The FSA 45 has a spacer bracket for precise and efficient trimming around plants and other objects. It can be folded out or down as required.
Activation key
The tool can only be used with the activation key. If the key is removed, the tool switches off to guard against unintentional activation. The tool can be safely stored and transported.
Charger cable
The STIHL HSA 45 draws its power from an integrated 18V lithium-ion battery. The battery is easily charged using the charger cable.
Compact and ergonomic
The integrated battery cells mean that the tool is optimally balanced. The FSA is easy to handle. Its streamlined design creates plenty of room for manoeuvre.
